LOOSEN INTO LIGHT
Original Poetry
Golden bow and arrow
Blood on my hands
.
And lift them to the heavens
.
To release dark crimson red
As an offering of my lineage
.
To the now thirsting earth
.
She’s quenched
as our red painted prayers
.
Cover small mossy sticks
With dampness of leaves
.
Soil and numbness
between my toes
.
Auuuuuggggghhhhhh
I moan
.
As I breathe clouds of rainbow vapor
against the night sky
.
I reach for a tree branch
To bear the strength of my pleading grasp.
.
If only the last drop
Of my first blood could be collected
.
And become a gem
To be worn on my heart forever
.
To hold heat on my chest
Whenever I forget my true origins
.
And I would whisper my secrets
Into this amulet
.
And I would call on my grandmother
In the pains of my labor with it
.
My golden arrow aims towards
The Moon, piercing her so she may release
.
Her own tears and sweat and blood
And breastmilk
.
The great celestial orb
Softly blossoming open
.
Only to then gush with
Springs of Red and White
.
To birth the body renewed.
And here in this fresh vessel.
.
poured into from the lunar door
colostrum streams from
.
double galaxies once more
giving nourishment to life.
.
I pause.
.
I’ve birthed both invisible and seen
Until there’s no more to give.
.
Only now to recycle.
Venus rises and with her
.
Reveals my new pace
My golden bow on my back
.
Pearl in hand
the sunrises and sets in Timelapse
.
With each blink
My eyes silver and gold
.
two sisters returning to a night sky
My body becomes dry
.
And turns into decomposing granite
Until each grain
.
Slowly slowly
Sheds.
.
To arrive at Mama Pacifica.
My eyes focus on the horizon
.
The Sun and I
Forget we ever parted
.
As the hourglass of my body
Settles into shifting grains of sand
.
Until all that remains is a single sphere
.
A mandala
Of intertwining colors
.
And wings that glow
.
To keep company with
What is sentient.
.
And I, Free to explode into a nebula
.
Loosen into Light.
